Parvaneh Ward (Hematology & Oncology)

Persistent people must be recognized from their persistent memories.
Prof. Parvaneh Vosough, hematologist, oncologist, and the board secretary, was always near students from the beginning of the hematology and oncology department establishment; and with her valuable knowledge, she helped thousands of children with cancer in their way to recovery.
From the early days of the establishment of Ali-Asghar (AS) Subspecialty Children’s Hospital, she devoted moments of her life and her valuable knowledge to children with cancer.
Dr. Parvaneh Vosough was born in Tafresh in 1935. She received his general medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1953. She passed the residency and fellowship pediatric courses at Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Illinois Universities. She also completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at the University of Washington.
Professor Vosough began practicing medicine in Iran in 1968. She was a founding member of pediatric hematology and oncology subspecialty in Iran. She established the pediatric hematology ward in Ali-Asghar (AS) Hospital. With her volunteering presence and scientific guidance, MAHAK Pediatric Cancer Treatment Hospital was established in 2007 which has treated more than 20,000 children so far.
Her active participation in international associations and programs such as the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), ::union:: for International Cancer Control (UICC), International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research (INCTR), the Middle East Childhood Cancer Alliance (MECCA), Pediatric Oncology in Developing Countries (PODC), Head of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Board, and membership in the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences reveal her professional knowledge and expertise.
With kindness, tolerance, valuable knowledge, and enlightenment, Dr. Vosough continued her efforts up to the last day of her life for the treatment of children with cancer. She has more than 100 papers and books in the field of blood diseases and pediatric cancer. Indeed, the life of such human beings is a great book. The life of Dr. Parvaneh Vosough is a readable book for learning lessons from her life. She died on Sunday, May 19, 2013.
Do not search for our graves on the earth after death, our vanguards are in the heart of wise people.

There is a long way to become a butterfly (Parvaneh). We must first be brave enough. We must understand that flying is not as easy as we think. Being a butterfly (Parvaneh) requires a butterfly heart.
